New record is coming closer!
Following today’s practice I can honestly say that we’re really close to being ready to record our new full length. We’re going to record it with John Angelo who did our Painter EP and it will feature 10 new songs. Now we just have to come up with song titles and an album title – yikes, I hate that part.

Out of town shows with White Whale!
The last time we went out of town with a Buffalo band was with White York and we headed down to the NYC area. This time we’re heading out of town with White Whale and we’re, ya know, headed to the NYC area. Either way, White Whale are an awesome band and we’ll be playing these shows with them:
Jan 12th – w/ White Whale @ Rochester, NY
Jan 13th - w/ White Whale @ Don Pedros 90 Manhattan Ave. Brooklyn, NY Doors at 8 $7 21+
Jan. 14th -w/ White Whale, Burning Bridges, Button Up @ East Setauket VFW Hall, Holbrook, Long Island
Jan. 15th- w/ White Whale @ Syracuse, NY
… If you’d like to check them out here is their website: http://www.thepalewhale.com/
Thanks to all who came out to the show last night….
Thanks to everyone who came out to the show last night! It was a lot of fun and cbend was as wonderful as ever. Ida Sessions will now be releasing a live album on Drug Party Records, it will be a compilation of all their stage banter and take up 8 cassettes – more like a box set I guess. Steve’s cupcakes were a hit, especially for those who really like corn. The 359 Parkdale residents were wonderful hosts and their basement is really nice. I think that’s it.

Shows?
In my last, and very recent, news post I said: “we’ve been trying to avoid shows lately as an attempt to write songs for a new full length…” Apparently I’m a filthy liar because now we have a total of three local shows coming up and they’re in the shows section. So, since we’re not being productive at all, y’all should come to these shows! Steve is making cupcakes for the Cbend show.

What we’ve been up to
I’ve been really bad about updating this page which means there’s a lot of stuff to report on. First off, we’ve been trying to avoid shows lately as an attempt to write songs for a new full length and it’s paying off. We have two songs that we’ve played live quite a bit and a handful of other ones that are moving along quite nicely. Ideally we’ll write the record, play the songs live a bunch and then record it late spring/ early summer.
We have one show coming up which will be a really fun time. Decency Rally is a ridiculous all local fest type thing here in Buffalo in which around 20 bands play at an old East Side venue. Last year it was at the Polish Library and this year it will be at the Ukranian Center. Both venues serve delicious beer and have a gritty history oozing out of their semi-preserved walls. It’s a fun time and here’s a link to the event page: Decency Rally Facebook
Our song “Roadside” was released on an all Buffalo comp, you can check it out here: Sheets of Ten If anyone knows of a good home for our other unreleased recording for the song “Can’t Get Past,” let us know.
We played two shows that never made the shows page here. One was with Defiance, OH at the Funeral Home and that was a really excellent time. Our entire set was recorded and is available here: buffalonotrochester two of our new songs are in this set but one of them was brutally fucked up. We also played a steam punk release show in Medina, NY. Chris’ family owns and operates an apple orchard and a winery – Steam Punk is the label for their new hard cider. It’s also the term for some pretty dorky stuff of course.
Oh yeah, England. Chris and Zac weren’t able to go but Steve and I recruited some fine fellas to fill in on bass and drums: Steve Kerfein and Jeff Proctor. Words can’t describe how awesome the experience was and the band 255s is composed of the nicest guys ever. I have some video footage from two of the shows and when I get some time I’ll try and upload it.
Finally, we’re gonna try and play some shows out of town. I haven’t even begun to put this together but this is what we’re thinking:
Jan. 13, 14 and 15 – Head East
March 2, 3, and 4 – Head West
Random Saturdays – Pittsburgh, Rochester and anywhere else that we can go and play on a Saturday night.
If anyone would like to set up a show for us let us know! unwelcomeguests@hotmail.com
I think that’s it…
